Passion Was trying to look for this sentence that Pastor Lia once shared. Something that was witty, something like: "... should be like a mini-skirt. Long enough to cover the topic, short enough to be interesting." But I found a more inspiring sentence than what I set out to look for. "Do not be a joiner. Be a strong, passionate believer..." It was my 7th service and Pastor Lia preached about pride. I think that sentence must have hit me hard cos I wrote it on top of the page. Funny thing is that I don't remember writing it down at all. Pride. The ground in which sins grow. A sin of presence of its victim is least concious of. How scary that is. Proverbs 29:23 "A man's pride will bring him low, But the humble in spirit will retain honour." Pastor Lia shared with us the ABC of pride - Achievements, Breeding, Cerebral (being smart & intellectual). And the final sentence, which I also wrote on the top of the page was this. "Do not be a joiner. Be a strong, passionate believer..." It may not mean something to me then, but it definitely means something now. Pastor How is a man of passion. Pastor Lia is a woman of passion. My leaders are all people of passion. If they believe in something, they go all out, and they get it. Nothing is impossible for them. Pastor Lia also once preached about Power always follow Passion. If you have the passion, you will just keep on doing what you're doing, believing what you're believing, seeing what you're seeing... What a great thing it is to have passion. Esp for the things of God, an eternal achievement. I was just typing in my report about how mercenary my classmates were... So desperate to join so many CCAs so that at the end of JC life, they can write a uber nice list for the top 3 achievements. And they say I have no life because I've decided not to join any CCA... If only they know! An ahievement in the heaven is definitely much more that a mere top achievement for your CCA. I don't think that thought would ever dare to cross their mind anymore. Haha. I shall just share with them about End Times and it'll be all the awakening they need. I really can't wait for DOTL to come.. Hopefully they are saved by then, (actually they are, but they just don't go to church), otherwise they'll wonder why I'm up there! Haha. Easter is gonna be awesome. B2 doubled!!! :D And it's going to be an official 2 years since I first started to usher! Be passionate about what you love. Love what you are passionate about. I'm a passionate believer who believes in passion. Passion of the Chrst. Are you? Anyway I remembered the sentence I was looking for... "Excuses are skins of reasons stuffed with lies." (: |
